hey guys i just bought a 1990 civic hatch. its got 273k miles on the od and has a low compression on #3 and fubared valves. thought i would just show the progress of my build/restoration. im swaping the blue interior for a favorable black interior which i will show before and after pics. and im replacing the blown motor with the same motor, the usdm d15 but with a 4 speed manual. its an auto now. heres a few pics. thanks for looking.

i would suggest getting a 5-speed manual if your gonna swap from auto to manual. Good luck on your project though

I just did an auto to manual myself.

I'm willing to offer my helping hand.

Strip the interior prior to removing the automatic stuff if it's not out. Get pedals/shiftlinkage ASAP, get new shift bushings/brakets/collars from honda, it cost me 20$ for it all. Hope you can help, do what I did, go cut the shifter out of a 5spd one and screw/weld on the manual one to cover up the automatic holes.

Also, put the motor and tranny in before installing the shifter, make it nice and tight, then attach the linkage and lift it upwards, being mounted correctly, it will automatically go where it should/wants to go, thats what I did and mine changes gears like a beauty.

Want more info PM me.
