OBD
i have a 89 crx si with a itr engine in it and i convereted it to obd with a mugen chiped PR3. would this restrict me into doing anything like tuning and does it restrict the engine
thanks
thanks
A PR3 can be tuned just fine. Myself and many others do it all the time. The mugen chip isn't good for that thing though. It's probably not even a real mugen chip for that matter. You need a program for an ITR, but the best way would be to dyno tune your car, which would guarantee you having the most hp and reliablility.
i have one more question and i didnt want to start and new thread if i put a 99 itr engine in my 89 si could i us a 98 itr wire harness for the converson. if not what harness do i need because i dont have the one for the engine
thanks
thanks

Use your stock harness and convert it to obd1 ..Convert the motor to obd1,(you can keep the obd2 distrubtor) ,,run a chipped p28 that has itr fuel/timing maps..The only thing the itr wire harness willl be good for to you is for some plugs,,Or you could even convert the motor to pre obd and chip the pm6 you have in the 89 si with itr fuel/timing maps and run the one wire vtec setup from turboeditt..
Also in your first qustion,,what do you mean you converted the motor to obd?..It is already obd..You mean you converted it to pre obd? And get rid of that generic chip, they suck..

That's easier said than done. Those didn't have external roms, and are a PITA to work with. The PR3 is fine, I run my R motor with one. OBD1 isn't bad, but not required.

I would seriously get rid of that generic chip..And if this was my car I would convert to obd1 and run a itr chipped p28 ecu..
