Default Racing harness in CRX?

Ey, jus wanted to get a general idea of how one would go about installing a race harness (3 or 4 pt) into a crx. Want to get into auto-x and my factory belts just aint working. I've heard about using the spare tire well to mount the shoulder harnesses? Anyone got pics of their setup? thanks.

You have to mount the shoulder harness level with your shoulders..You cant just mount them to the floor like so many people do..If you plan on getting a roll cage you can mount the shoulder harness to the crossbar, that would be your best bet..

Why can't you mount the shoulder strap to the floor? My car has harnesses and factory seat belts. I like having both the harness and factory seat belt so that I can wear the factory seat belt when daily driving.

If you mount a five point or four point harness directly to the bottom of the floor, it pulls down on your spine, instead of hold you back. It could kill you or paralize you. A very bad idea

You however can mount them to the floor if you have a bar toe put the straps over that even with your shoulders or close to it

sparco makes a harness bar. my friend has one in is evo. doesnt seem to add much weight and it puts the straps close to even with your shoulders.

not to hate but damn thats some bad grammar. and yes, sparco does not make a harness bar for crx's but for the price the sparco harness bar is going for, minus well buy an autopower bolt on cage and wrap it around there.

Will a 3 point harness do the same? I have the Sparco 3 point harness if that makes a differnce.

i have a 4pt harness in my car and i mounted the lap belts to the rear seat bolts on the floor and the shoulder ones go back to the rear strut bar it works well since its farther back and doesnt push you down
