Default More problems with my Hatchback.

Alright guys here it goes.

90 Hatch Si w/ Dohc ZC swap. huge Fluidyne rad and FAL fan.

#1. Temp guage doesn't work even after i plugged everything in, so im running the fan direct to the ignition. I had to because fan would not kick in even after car idled for 10 minutes. Is this bad in the long run?

#2. Needle will jump and stutter when i go WOT past 4k rpm. Motor will bog too. I have lowered suspension so when im on the highway or on the street and hit a rough spot, the CEL will flash and the motor will bog too. What can cause this??

I need a lot of help guys, the motor pulls like ish, I know it should pull alot harder because ive driven other cars wih the same swap.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I just want my car to run with no problems, this will be my daily driver as soon as i register which will prob be tommorow on thursday. Thanks!

1. Thermostat or wiring problem

2. Dizzy/Spark problem (running rich?)

In response to lvcrx's question, yes everything is plugged in, both plugs underneath the dizzy on the head.

In response to Rob., Im going to buy a new thermostat and have my buddy check the wiring. The dizzy works fine, i have good wires and it sends plenty of spark.

**I actually noticed that my plugs are a little browned which, from what i have read, means it is running a bit lean .

Anything else guys??? thanks again, everyone here has helped me solve every problem i've had lately.

1. Sounds like the ignitor
2. Maybe the fan switch is shot..Or maybe the there isnt a good connection from being dirty soaked in oil?

hey guys im back and the problem is still there.

just yesterday i replaced the dizzy and it still does the same. i put fuel injector cleaner and got new spark plugs too.

later this week im going to check fuel pump and fuel components.

I was wondering if a f-ed up cat would cause this too. When i bought the car, it had a blown Dual cam zc. The guy told me that as soon as he swapped it in, the motor burned a lot of oil and smoked alot. He drove the car like that until it blew. which was like 3 months. Would three months of driving with a blown motor f up a cat and cause these problems??

one more thing, when i first put in my hmo zc, i guess i didnt tighten down the tensioner enough so the timing belt skipped maybe 2 teeth, would that be enough to bend any valves???

Thanks everyone, i appreciate this greatly because i dont have the money to take it to a shop.
