i have a d16zc dohc. it works quite well in my car. i really like it, but if you are going to spend the money i would get something different. it just depends on what you want to do with your car.

There is no d16zc dohc..You're honestly going to tell me that the stamp on your block says "D16ZC" on it..It should say either ZC on it or D16a?,,,

The d16a6 is a d16..You have to be specific in what you mean,,There is d16a1,d16a,d16a6,d16a8,d16a9,d16z6,d16y8,d16y7,d16 y5,etc,etc..There are so many of them,,just saying the D16 doesnt help us..

so if they are all the same why are there so many d16a1,d16a,d16a6,d16a8,d16a9,d16z6,d16y8,d16y7,d16 y5?????????
some are vtec, some are not, some have different heads, pistons, rods, etc etc. Just because its a d16 block doesn't mean all components are the same. Yours is a non-vtec. the zc is a better motor than the d16a6, so yes id say its worth the swap.
its a d16 and it is stamped with zc. is that better? i just repeat what im told in relation to my motor. i can do oil changes, drive it, and do some motor work, but when it comes to what motor codes and proper terminology, i suck. i let the guys handle all of that.

Stop repeating what you're told. Whoever is telling you is telling you wrong. If the stamp says "ZC", it is a ZC, that's all. It's not a "d16zc". If it was a d16 it would say "d16" on the engine.
Reading this thread makes me feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. The bit about d16s with different displacements is too funny.

When refering to 'ZC' motors, only thing you need to describe is the following.
Sohc ZC
Dohc ZC (Black top - CRX or Brown top - Integra)
They are all D16's which denote 1.6 liters
