should i just re pin or has anyone using 94-95 plugs encountered this prob with their plugs?
2000 CRV is going to be an electric tach driven off of an electronic VSS in the tranny.
You 91 is a mechanical tach/speedo driven off the cable drive to the drive gear in the tranny.

The tach is electrical... there's a wire behind your cluster for the tach signal. I bl'eeve it's blue with a white stripe...? I'm probably wrong about that.

i know................... my question is, once again, has anyone had a prob with the pin location of their tach wire on the new plugs for the new cluster?
btw... the tach wire and electric vss wires a different. i guess i will just re pin the plug tomorrow. thanks anyways

I didn't have a problem with that. I have a 2000 si cluster in my 88std model but my entire wiring harness in my car is out my old 90 civic si from headlight to tailight. Give me a minute I will let you know what color the tach signal wire is.

The tach signal wire is blue. I have got cluster clips out of a crv and one out of acura integra and they both had different pin locations for certain things, like oil, tach, turnsignal, ect......

you might have to re-pin them if they are from an Integra.

well my cluster is crv and clips are from a 94-95 integra. the blue wire is there but in a different location from where it is supposed to be for the crv, so i am going to go ahead and try to re pin. seems like my most logical solution.
i just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem. thanks everyone

the tach in 88-91 civics is electronic, not mechanical. the speedo is cable driven in USDM cars, yes.

well for thirty dollars of an investment i get a newer cluster with better lighting, it looks just like the si cluster minus the si part and it looks better than the stock auto cluster that was in it, plus the car is my beater, no need putting lots of money in it or a jdm cluster, just wanted a newer cluster to set it apart from other 4 dr ef's. thanks for the personal tidbit though

I would of done a nicer cluster personally.</TD></TR></TABLE>

i always use butt connectors except for engine harnesses, plus i have been an installer for 12 years so i kinda know what i'm doing.. anyone else have nothing else to do but hate?
Here is my 88std model with a 2000 civic si cluster. Your wires are shorter then mine I made mine like 8-10inches long because everyone kept saying to make the wires long. I used heat shrink and soldiered everything, its taking longer but its well worth it.
