cams, header, bushings (on car) %stiffer then 97 vs. 98.

ITR motor is ITR motor....for the most part. Easier to tell USDM vs. JDM cause of engine codes.

As far as UDM engines went, there was a cam profile change in 2000.

The 98 is worth it imo, cause the 96 -97 (jdm) was ported and polished by hand which had more inconsistancies in horsepower, where as in 98 they went with machine P&P and had more consitant hp #'s, plus you get the header, and the other small updates!

Not to start an arguement or anything like that at all, I'm just simply curious where you came up with that statement about the inconsistant hp numbers?

He is right though. I have personally seen many different 96 spec ITRs making different numbers. For the most part, they are pretty consistent making between 120KW (161.9whp) to 125KW (168.25whp) with very mild mods. However, once in a while, you see 'freak' motors producing over 140KW (189whp and over) with pretty much the same mods as the other ones mentioned before.

Maybe the mechanics are more hardworking on some days?
