loose tire
1. bad bearing
2. bad ball joint
3. loose stud nuts
4. bad axles

Knocking sound when straight - bad bearing, when turning, axle.

axles will make that noise when turning if the boot is torn and it gets rusted. had freinds that would drive like that and not even care.

A loose wheel can never be attributed to bad axles. After all, the joints don't even hold the wheel in. The only thing remotely axle related that can cause the wheel to be loose is a loose axle nut. Try tightening this first. It just might be the reason for the whole problem.

Jack the car up, make sure the axle nut is tight, make sure the lug nuts are tight. Rock the tire back and fourth, and if its loose, then its your wheel hub bearing. also check the ball joint on your outer tie rod. I had the same problem, and just swapped suspension from another ef, problem gone.

Here is a way to check its a bad axle: Get in your car, go to make a turn (right or left), but slow down to like 3 mph. Turn the steering wheel almost as far as it will go (right or left) and then accelerate while making the turn. If you hear a knocking (or clicking) noise, determine which side it is coming from (passenger or driver) and replace that axle.

The wheel feeling loose is when you are going like 30 mph in a turn and it feels like your car stop turning for a split second and then continues to turn? It feels like the car is going 'through' the turn. If so, that is more than likely thats an axle problem. There is some kind of bushing that you should replace just in case as well, I forgot the name of it though ( ), some kind of rack and pinion bushing?
