Default 5th Gen Prelude Tranny Issue

I have a 2000 Prelude, Manual Shift. I'm having a bit of a grind going into 5th gear, do you feel this is a syncro problem? Is this typical? Any resonably inexpensive fix rather than dropping in a new Tranny?

Any feedback would be fantastic!

Any ideas on how much this would run? I have just been double clutching it into 5th, works for the time being, just a pain in the a$$.

Yeah i had this same problem in my 99 Base and the dealer fixed it for free, so you may wanna check with a dealer if you have any type of warranty on your car.

A little out of my league to do the repair myself, thank you for the link though. My warranty has long since expired. I guess I will just bring it down to the dealership and have them do it, might as well have them through the clutch and flywheel on at the same time. Thanks for the insight guys!

The shift fork for the 97+ had problems that only made it grind going into 5th. I got a 94 tranny and haven't had a problem.
