Default Anyone with a hood lock install how to?

Ive got some hood locks to install but Im wondering if someone can post up some pictures of where they mounted them? I would REALLY prefer to drill my hood in the right spot so a little help would be appreciated.

btw hood pin install pictures are not going to help me in any way.

I'm guessing this isn't a cable type lock? Could you post a link to the product that you have?

i want 1(if it was invisable), but for the install its just like doing hood pins. drill the holes for the locks and if there arnt already there, drill holes for the rodes to mount on the frame. the only diff between hood pins and ur locks is that the rode doesnt go through the hood, so after u get the locks in and the rodes in just adjust the rode to where it meets the locks under the hood. make sense?

So that circular thing is on the outside of the hood? That's retarded.

Build a bracket that goes behind your front bumper and padlock it.

no these locks dont allow the room for sloppiness that hood pins do. as you can see the black pin on the lock cylinder has to line up with the slot on the bolt looking part in order to lock it down.

Im well aware that holes need to be drilled but im looking to see where someone with these style of locks has done it so that i can be sure that they will line up right.

yeah because padlocks are sooooo much harder to defeat than a tubular cylinder lock.
As for the plate being on the outside of the hood.... sometimes security is more important than looks. I could give 2 ***** about what they look like. Im more interested in what they are actually doing.

Well of course. I don't like this design becuase it's just exposed. Couldn't you just drill that? What's it made out of?

With a hidden padlock placed in that tiny amount of space, a theif wouldn't be able to fit a cutter or saw in there to destroy the padlock or bracket.

Those locks are fairly time consuming to drill out since the pins are arranged around the lock rather than in a straight line through the center like a standard lock
If i can fit my hands in there to take a padlock off of a bracket I can fit bolt cutters in there and cut it for sure.

That's cool. As long as it's not drillable.

You can't get to the padlock or bracket by just reaching through the front bumper grill. You have to go underneath and really curve your hand in a weird way. There's no way you can cut my bracket. Seriously.

when i did these on my friends car there were 2 holes on the radiator support that were perfect for the rods...we just put some grease on the end of the rod after we put it through the hole then set the hood down on it and thats where we drilled the holes

hope youre not using those for a carbon fiber hood, in place of pins....

This is for hood pins, but you can still follow it along for the most part (just make a larger hole for the big locks to slide in through)

These are my hood pins/locks. Saw them on the 800+whp / 200+mph EVO8 and I had to have them.

I had much better pics from a photoshoot, but I can't seem to find them. Be prepared for a more time-consuming install, and to pay almost $100 for a set of two.

Anyway, they're from http://www.aerocatch.com
