Default carbon fiber hood for 200bucks! what u think?

im sure its real Its like more then half the weight of my stock hood. i could hold it with 1hand!
i got it off a guy i talked to online that lived in fresno. He said he bought it for 460 awhile ago at this import shop and used it on hes car but hes now selling parts off hes car like hes turbo kit and hes hood etc...and i couldnt pass up 200bucks! for a styled carbon fiber hood. OEM CF hoods arent even 200bucks. And i believe this one is called the "invader style" Tell me what u think.
Heres stock:

I had a CF hood on my civic a few years ago and personally, I think they are a waste of money. Well now I do anyways. They look awesome but try and keep it garage kept or covered since you live in the sun. Mine took a beating from this humid GA heat and after a little over 1 1/2 yrs, it started cracking and fading, BAD. They do look good though and I think your car looks nice with it.

Stock looked better. Personally I wouldn't put that monstrosity on my car even if it was free, but to each his/her own.

im sure over time it will start looking like **** but the guy took good care of it. washed hes car then waxed it. it has a smooth finish to it still and still looks brand spankin new.

whats the best stuff to use on it to somewhat protect it from sitting in the sun

What are you guys nuts? That thing looks sweet! Gives the car a nice look. And yeah, you dont WANT to see the weave. When are you gonna paint it?

P.S. Clean *** car.

It was a good deal for sure, but I still prefer OEM.

it would look OK with some other stuff done to the car.... new wheels, lip, 00 tails, etc.... just looks too much for the car how it sits now, but for $200 its a nice deal

Well for $200 you might want to check the stolen threads to see if it looks familiar, if not it is a decent deal.

Not my style, but if you like it.... good for you. especially for 200.
This should probably be in A&C forum also.

eh, I'm not too hot on styled CF hoods, I like the OEM style better. Take it to a body shop that knows what they are doing and get a few good coats of quality clear coat on that bitch to make it last. Most of the CF have a **** job clear coat which is a reason they fade.

i like the oem cf hoods more too but i couldnt pass up 200bucks because styled cf hoods are a bit more then oem cf hoods. Im thinking whenever i get bored of this one ill try and trade someone mine for there oem cf hood. in the mean time i like it for now. so damn light its crazy.

and also i plan on getting rota slipstreams in flat black. 99-00 taillights, apexi N1 exhaust and a Mugen front lip (i would go cf on the lip but i have a bad feeling it would get fucked up fast) Im a just see how good the cheaper lip holds up and then deside later down the road if i want a cf one or not

well you should have bought his turbo too cus those hoods are for turbo cars. but if you like it like its the tightest **** ever than it is. personally i would have bought it to sell it for more and get a brand new oem one.
