Default 1990 civic standard to d16z6 full swap, who dunn it?

Did anyone install a d16z6 in place of a d15b2 doing the full obd1 conversion? i am planning to do this and already have a motor.

thanks, do you think i can just convert the full harness. because that guy added wires and i want to overhaul the whole thing. it should work right?

i couldnt tell ya. also check out http://www.ef-honda.com for write ups, i think i may have seen something like this but im not 100%.

It wasn't hard, but it certainly wasn't easy. For me, the hardest part was doing the MPFI wiring at the same time as OBD1. In the end I only had the crank angle sensor wires swapped, but easy fix.

My suggestion is to use the DX/STD/LX engine harness as the base, then add/extend wires using the EX/SI engine harness. I used 16ga heavy insulated wire from mcmaster.com, and covered all the wires with the split-loop tubing. Looks stock.


IIRC, if you follow the dpfi part of the boomslang.us conversion harness pdf (for the ecu, not engine bay), it's just repining the dizzy and the dpfi->mpfi wires at the ecu.

Me.. too!

MPFI wasn't too bad. Just have to add a few wires. No big deal. I used a obd-0 to obd-1 conversion harness after I did the mpfi and I knew it worked (I ran the z6 obd0 for a little while to get the mpfi conversion kinks out).

There was a lot I learned.
