Alright so here is the first question. I have a chose here. To keep my 90 hb dx and do an engine swap to a d16y8 that has like 5k miles on it and about 160bph
or getting a 1992 Integra with headers exhaust intake short shifter and perfect interior w/150k. 800 for engine or 1000 for car?????

Next: My dad is a mechanic but he doesnt know **** about Hondas . So he is concerned about wiring, drive axles, motor mounts, pollution control, etc.....
So what exactly i am going to have to do to make my car run with this new engine.

If you dont know what you are doing then a d16y8 swap is going to take a while. The integra sounds like a decent buy.

Ok, a d16y8 is much newer and different from your 90dx. Engines electronics, intake manifold and vtec make it significantly more complicated to swap and have all systems properly working. some certain parts and lots of wiring are needed. Check the FAQ in this section, there is probably more detailed info on stuff you are looking for.

Damn...nothing in there. Are there like any websites or anything that i could go to? But I dont know if this is true or not but i heard that the engine/tranny should bolt right in. The only thing that i am going to need to do is the electircal stuff. But that is jus what i have heard. Plz help and give advice in which would be the better project car. I need someone to be my advisor, tutor, guidance counselor.
Hope someone can help!
Thnx Ryan

Well, the condition of the cars makes a huge difference as to which is a better project. They are both rather old, and could need some other work. d-series is nice because it is very cheap and simple. The motors and trannies are bolt in swap, but a d16y8 has a hydraulic clutch operation and the d15b2 dx tranny is cable actuated so you would use that. Electronics and other misc items are the big things. There is plenty of info in the archives here, try the search button on the corner of the screen as well.
