SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY - How Does It Go Together?
Ive got a set of Kyb GR2 shocks and a set of aerospeed adjustable coilovers
I took apart my stockers and kept the tops and the boot sleeves
Now when I drop the adjustable sleeve onto the shock it doesnt seem to sit right... does it have to seat and click?
Also on the sleeve is 3 adjustable little allen set screws, what are they for? If I tighen them in it doesnt allow the dust cover to go down witht he shock and if I back them out they are toucing the inside of the spring... What do they do?
Im kinda lost on this and obviously hated taking everything apart so any help is appreciated, pics to maybe
Thanks guys

i installed those same shocks on my hatch over the summer
those allen screws are basically to tighten that silver metal hollow cylinder (which came with the springs) to the shock itself, thers also like 3 rubber circles that go on before that silver cylinder thing to have a tighter fit and to seperate the metal and **** i think (not good at explaining this stuff

yeah. you have to. the shocks will be fine.
GC tells you to cut the stock dust boot, but thats useless because you have to cut it so much its useless.
if you really wanted to protect the shock, then you can get some accordian boots. ive heard ppl use tie rod boots as well.

Meh dont care
Quick question
The adjustable threaded sleeve that goes over the shock
Do the 3 allen bolts go on the top of the sleeve or do I flip it and the allen bolts are on the bottom

Theres also a little cap thing intop of the dustcap, kinda of looks like a washer attaches to the top of the cap then a sleeve attached to the and it centerred the shock in the assembly
On one of my oem shocks the dustcap came right off and the washer and sleeve ontop of it came with
On the other oem shock the dustcap will not come off of the shock and the sleeve and washer or bonded to it
The only thing I can think of is to cut the dustcap off and cut the sleeve and washer off and grind it to shape and put it on the kyb, sucks cause I wanted to do this tonight
Also
Ive not got 2 washers (one big one small and a bushing) in what order do they go from top to bottom under the spring top black thing...
Sorry for my lack of techie terms

you need #13 and #12 (washer, kinda funny looking, flat on top, tapered on bottom) and everything shown on the left hand side except #15 (which i have no idea is) you dont need the black flat washer #9, or the dust boot. you obviously dont need the spring. the way you have it is fine.

knock your old dust boot off. theres no reason it should be permanently stuck on, unless someone glued it or something.

Do i really need #13? the bump stop right? I thought people got rid of those?
Anyways, my rear shocks that i bought came with bigger dust boots and fairly longer bumpstops, do I use them?

keep your bumpstops. no, ppl should not get rid of them. at most, cut them in half. but you need something there to prevent destroying your shocks.
