Default EDM Show car Accident....WHAT THE HELL DO I DO NOW???

Alright here is the situation. I just was in my first accident. 89 Civic almost converted to look a like EE9 (Euro Spec 91 Civics almost the same as EF9)
Rear bumper totaly gone
Rear metal panel above bumper gone
Trunk Glass shattered out gone
EDM taillights small crack
Driver side rear panel Dented
Rear frame where the bumper was is dented in
Trunk wont close either

Alright I went and got a quote for 3 g's and that was a ruff estimate because they didnt include the taillights and rear garnish, nor the muffler. I was told because of the age my car may get totaled
I know I'm not the only person to get in a accident with their hatch. What should I do because I have never been in this situations before. The guy has Farmer Insurance. I need some stories so I can figure out what to do and how much I should be able to get. Not to include I also had to go to the hospital
Great for me moneywise but all this sucks.

yeah far from totalled, my dad has a small autobody business and thats an everyday fix most of the time. you can do a lot of it yourself, buy a new hatch and bumper/filler piece. get a ball peen and bang some stuff straight. HAVE FAITH!

i cant believe they gave you full coverage on that thing.

LOL @ show car. thought you said it WASNT a show car. WTF!?

dude, that was hardly a show car. especially with the bumper hanging on for dear life, your unsightly engine bay (still painted red) and the remaining GOO from tape or whatnot on the rear bumper.

Just received this from the guys Insurance claims person:

Please be advised that I am the Claims Representative assigned to this claim. Because liability (or coverage) has not yet been determined, we are unable to pay for the repairs at this time. Once liability (or coverage) has been determined, we will pay for necessary repairs, storage, or towing fees as a result of this loss, and for reasonable rental expenses, in accordance with the liability (or coverage) determination.......
......It is your legal responsibility to mitigate your damages resulting from this accident. Because the determination of liability (or coverage) may take some time, you may wish to process your claim through your own carrier to save time and money You may wish to move your vehicle from a tow yard or repair facility to avoid incurring unnecessary storage fees.

what the hell

love how you wedged the rear headrests between the seat and cargo cover. ghetto fabulous.

back on topic now though, if the accident was not your fault then the at fault party's insurance company has to pay you for every single last part you have on your car if they total it out, they can't just say you have a stock 89 civic and pay you book value or FMV (fair market value) on it, as it looks heavily modified. As long as you can come up with receipts for all your parts, and the labor involved in installing them, then you can document a higher value for your vehicle and that will make it harder for them to total it.

if the car was bone stock it would definitely be totalled. a 91 civic si only books for $2600 so i know your car books for less, and with rear 1/4 panel damage, and under the surface damage behind the rear bumper there is way more damage than $2600.

good to know. After receiving the email from the Claims guy of the hitting party, I'm starting to think this guy may have expired insurance. When he showed my his paper work for his insurance after hitting me he it the expiration date was Sep 04 ??
He told that he did not have his recent insuranc paper on him so I just took down both address he had and all his **** and his job info. I'm starting to think I may end up in court.

you won't end up in court at all. just make a claim with your insurance company and let them go after the other insurance company to get your deductible back for you. if the accident wasn't your fault your rates won't get raised regardless of who pays out initially.

my car is more damaged worst then your car i got hit from the back and my car skit and hit the car in front!!! i got front and rear jdm coversion. that mean i dont have those metal bar. the impact was like 5- 10 mph but if you look at my car is like 40-50mph. anyway my car was total from what my insure' told me. i got rear driver side damaged( brand new tail light is gone, rear bumper is gone) in the front damaged are front bumper, pass' HL, sir hood and pass fender are gone. on top of that i look at the roof i saw it got like a bubble on the roof. so basically the other insure' came to look at the car and at first he said it not their client false. so i talk to my lawer, they told me they going to take care of it. one month pass by they sent me a check for 1500 to fix the front damaged. i took the car to the local body shop, they said they want 5000 to fix it. i end up sold the car. i sold it for 1500 for the shell only.the car got tein ss+hks exuast and some other jdm **** in the car. i still have the motor+ rim + sound syst. one month after i recieved my frist ck they contact my lawer and want to pay a settelment and they offer 3300 somthing. so i receeived more then 6000 for the civic shell. i think you better get a lawer man they really help you.

fob that sucks i havent been in that situation but a suggestion for next time........go with wawaneesa(sp) ins. (they down the street from the Q) when i joined them i got the speciality ins. and for one of my cars i didnt have reciepts for the aftermarket stuff , so they walked around the car and asked what was aftermarket and how much it cost's and they took pics

for 3 car's with all my stuff covered and a $250 deductable i pay a lil over $250 a month

i havent seen your car in person....

but i'm betting its a whole lot nicer than JAMES' car.

(in my opinion... an old EF, resprayed with edm bumpers and nothing more...headrests shoved in to 'mimic' the look of an EDM SHO CAH. IMPOSTER!)

Does Wa send out a Claims person or does the other person insurance send one out??

good luck .

i wouldnt expect too much , unless you stated that u had those mods to your insurance beforehand.

as much as a fender bender would total a car that old very fast.
