do you have an 89 prelude engine in your car? you might want to look for an ecu that is for the engine you have, or atleast an ecu that has been chipped for your engine. im not even sure the preludes have the same pin out as some of the smaller displacement obd0 ecus.

the 89 Prelude Si distributor will not work with your MPFI - it doesn't have a Cylinder Position Sensor in the distributor - on the Prelude Si, it is on the end of the exhaust camshaft, like a DOHC ZC or Integra D16A1

whoops! sorry - thought you were asking about distributor

It wont work. What is meant by when you need an 'Si' ecu, it means a crx or civic si from 88-91, not a prelude si. Basically you need a pm6 ecu.
