Default 1994 just got it has a few little quirks.

hey, i finally got a honda 1994 accord ex coupe 5spd (hopefully more reliable than my gti and rx7 :-p)

well it has a few minor problems
at idle the tach sticks at 2000rpms and the speedometer is off my friend tailed me said i was going 60-65 when mine read 70-75 (would this be the speed sensor?)

when my speedometer as it is at reads 76-78mph about 2900rpm it makes a vibrating noise like what the exhaust rubbing on the heat sheild would or something like that it came from both the infront and behind me at differnt times...

also the car seemed kinda loud probably needs a new muffler.

also turn stalk is kinda finiky pushed down it sometiems do double speed clicking and up i have to push it up witha little extra force and it'll work right.

thank you in advanced!!!!

More than likely it IS a heat shield thats acound your Cat (it's been a while). It's very annoying too.. Just getcha some pliers and pull it off (well bend it untill it breaks actually). That fixes that.

Does it have aftemarket wheels/tires that are different from what it came w/from the factory? That could be your problem there. I can't remember off hand what the factory tire size is, but check your door and compare that to what you've got.

That's all I can help with.

don't take the heat shield off. just have the honda dealer put a steel band around it. Most of them do this for free when you are getting normal service done.

Check to make sure that your tires are the same diameter as a 185 70R14 (stock tire size for a LX) or 195 65R15 (ex)

ALso the speedo could need calibration as well or need to be replaced.

the tires were replaced i think they are stock size (still has the ex rims) that wouldn't explain weird tach sticking at 2k rpms at idle.

have them put a steel band around it? is there any way i can do it or should i just bring it in and say run a diagnostic and make sure everything running tip top? (it passed emissionsbefore i got its running pretty good)

Just get under thre w/some pliers and a screwdriver and tear it off. Think of the performance you'll gain by losing the extra weight!! A whole .0000001 of a second!
Seriously, it's just a lil heat shield. I assure you, you can't tell that it's not there.

Maybe somebody tried to put some glow gauges in it or somethin and took em out cause they relized they suck and didnt get the needle quite right?
