I just completed my rotor over hub brake conversion
This is a great cheap mod I used the cl 3.0 brakes and my brakes are amazing. Only took 5 hours and 2 trips to the parts store. Had to replace a axle but that was because of the rusted spline and me hitting it with a big metal mallet. Overall cost 423 dollars and worth every penny.
I got a 95 4dr ex. All you got to get is front hubs from a 99 acura cl 2.3 4 cyl. Rotors from a same year acura either the 2.3 or the 3.0. If you want the bigger rotors you need the bigger calipers from the same acura but in 3.0 and of course pads. Depends if you want your same calipers (of your car) and pads or if you want 11 inch rotors and bigger calipers. Then all you have to do is take off 32mm axle nut and push the axle back enough to get a 12mm wrench on the 4 bolts behind the knuckle (offset closed end wrench works best). Then just remove the hub from the knuckle (you may need a hammer, I did). If your bearings are good then get them pressed out of the current hub and then use a vise or press to put the new hubs together. Then reinstall the new rotor over hub and hopefully bigger brakes onto the old knuckle and bleed the new calipers (passenger side first). Thats all I could take some pics for ya over the next couple days just let me know. It was said that only the 15 inch alloy rims will fit over the new brake setup. I have the stock 15 ex wheels and they have maybe an inch clearance all around so its good.
I had to get them from a acura dealer because of all the auto stores not carrying them atleast advance and autozone didn't. From the dealer they are 94 dollars a piece
