Default Tranny makes weird sound?

So when I'm taking off in 1st gear and sometimes when shifting into 2nd gear my tranny makes a squeeling noise for a split second. Almost sounds like a wine or tires squeeling. Its been doing this for months. Possibly throwout bearing? It doesn't make any noises when out of gear and doesn't make any noise when driving in gear except for when I first take off or shift from 1st to 2nd.

My GSR tranny makes the same sound. It did that on my LS motor and my new motor. I think could be related to the throw out bearing. But i'm not positive.

2nd car was a 94 civic hatch cx. was running fine until i swap motor but reused the clutch. i sprayed down the flywheel with brake cleaner but forgot to grease the splines, it happen for about 300 miles before it stop. last time i herd from it was when i took it up to the moutain with all day hard driving. iono if that fixed it or not but i dont hear it anymore. hope this help. good luck.

I had this same issue right after I replaced the clutch. Took it apart again and resurfaced the flywheel, never did it again.

hmm thanks for your help guys. I never resurfaced my flywheel, but I did clean it off real good and thats about it. I don't believe it started doing it until I swapped in another block and changed my ACT clutch over to a new motor.

well guys I just put in a new tranny today since my old one was grinding gears real bad and all kinds of stuff. Problem is now this new tranny has a whole other sound. Sounds like a knock when the clutch is engaged. Input shaft bearing possibly? Other than that it drives 100% better.

A bad input shaft bearing sounds more like nuts rattling in a can (kind of like detonation) with the clutch out and the car in neutral. Is that what it sounds like?

I've managed to destroy 3 input shaft bearings on D series trannies (long story)... that's how it sounded every time right up until one of them locked up on me.
