I fixed my valve adjustment, but it seems to be out of adjustment again....
Today it is stalling again. it was fine yesterday after the valve adjustment. I made sure all of the bolts were tight. What could cause my valves to become unadjusted again? How can I fix this?
Thanks.
Thanks.
is everything properly torqued right on the head? it could be the lift of the cams and the valves might be off a bit. my friends did the same thing when he adjusted it himself, so he got fed up and took it in to a dealership.
When I did my valve adj. I used a honda valve adj. tool(you could use a box end wrench and a screwdriver). The best way to tell if your valves are out of the spec range is to use FEELER GUAGES. On the underside of the hood it should say what the spec range is for intake and exhaust valves. Remember that the intake valves are the ones on the side of the engine closest to the firewall. Also remember that when doing this to do it in the same order as the firing order (1,3,4,2, i think). when using the feeler gauges it is important to remember that they take a certain kind of finesse.
My brother was working on his valve adjustment yesterday, and he couldn't torque down the nut without also turning the adjusting screw, which messed up his adjustment. Maybe that happened to you too?
