I'm currently in the process of building my drag CRX and I was wondering what kind of metal you guys would recommend for covering the hole were my spare tire used to be (yes, its already cut out)?? Aluminum or mild steel??? What gauge thickness?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

should I???? What are the pros and cons to welding it or bolting/riveting it in???

welding would cost more and be more work. i would rivet it and get some good sealant under there too.
