D16z6 wires have smaller seals on them where they meet with the valve cover..

They wont work..The seals are to small to properly fit the d16a6 valve cover..Just looking at the wires next to each other you can see it wont work..

Wrong. One of my plug wires broke, the metal clip got stuck on the plug, and a friend gave me an extra set he had. I have an A6, he has a Z6, it works fine. The caps are a little taller than stock A6, but they fit on fine, and the skirts cover the holes, but they don't quite go all the way down to the valve cover.

They do fit, and they work in a pinch. They are a little taller, less than 1cm. They fit down the holes, and they function fine. You were talking about the size of the holes, which is not the problem. I have a set of both, I'll take some pics at the shop tomorrow of them next to each other and both of them in the motor.

Look, just make it simple. They fit, and they work. The seals or skirts wont seal though. So in light of that, they do not fit as intended, but they will work and if you have a good set of wires, I say use them and buy the right set when they need replacing.

Oh ok..Sorry I guess Im just an idiot..Because Ive seen them next to each other and they look different and I never even bothered to fit them(I guess because I didnt need them in an emergency situation like you did..)

Its best to get the right set though either way..

Yeah exactly. I got them the night before an autocross because mine were broken, but obviously you should use the right set. Rereading, he wanted to go the other way, A6 wires on a Z6. Since the Z6 are longer, I don't know if the A6 caps would make it to the plug without getting hung up on the valve cover.

He could always trim the seals to allow them to seat. It's no big deal either way, the seals are to keep foreign objects from falling in there, and then falling into the combustion chamber when you remove the plugs. Just make sure you keep stuff out of it until you get the proper set.

Damn, I just looked at your sig, you're not far from me. I'm in Harrisonburg haha. Like I said though, just be sure nothing falls down in there while you're using them, and you'll be fine.

I reused my LX's plugs on my z6. I had to trim the bottom of the seals a bit to get them to fit. Then one broke when I was going to comp. test it (the old tip-left-on-plug deal). Luckly my friend had a spare z6 set
