Default Help needed: 98 Accord EX problems

Alright Im trying to help a friend figure out what is wrong with his car. The car does not rev pass 5k and it sputters while sitting there at times. The car is a completely stock 1998 Honda Accord EX auto. We took it to autozone and ran a diagnostic test and it came up with this one code, which I forgot. But its something like Cyl#1 position sensor. The things we tried changing is a new distributor, cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires. We are stumped, non of those things helped at all.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? and what other things can we check for? Any help would really be appreciated.

TIA

Smoke another doobie to see if you can remember the code, it might be helpful if you want a correct diagnose. These guys on this website will have you chasing your tail for the next month with a question like yours. is it possible that the code was about the crank angle sensor?

V6 or I4?

Check your plugs and wires and ignition module. also check your electrical system to make sure that it is working properly, you will need a volt meter and a battery load tester
