either way, i know i am going to get had when i buy one.

i am looking for a multi purpose unit that i can use to build racks, engine stands,roll cages and manifolds. ill prob get into aluminum welding also

It's not a HF box, and has no AC function. Thus, you can't (easily) use it for TIG welding aluminum. It looks like a basic ARC machine. And... He doesn't say that it comes with any of the options, like a gas regulator, TIG torch, etc, so you might JUST be getting a ARC machine.

For $1700.... There are some good welders out there. Don't get stuck with something overspecialized.

look into syncrowave 180 or 200. there are afew threads on here right now. that deal sucks for what you want to o with it.

i agree...for $1700 you can afford a nice Miller Syncrowave. It is a really nice tig welder that allows AC welding to weld aluminium. While costs of tig welding are more expensive I think they are way more versitile and produce much better welds

try looking into used welders also.... i got my Miller Syncrowave 250dx tig runner with a two tanks, regulator and a ton of filler for 1900. theres a ton of good deals out there you just got to research. also try ebay

look around , can be found cheaper , and it has no runner btw, so you will be limited with the 12' torch

Wow, I would think a ton of filler alone woulf cost a couple grand.
