iight heres what happened...
I'm driving home on the freeway going about 80 mph and merge onto another freeway where I notice a little bit of traffic infront of me so hit the brakes (not really hard but about 70% pressure on to the pedal) and nothing happens, now Im going about 50 mph and theres a car about 5 feet infront of me, but then all of a sudden this kid in a 300ZX comes flying in that little space between me and the car infront of me, I had to slam on my brakes hard and was only milimeters away from hitting him but dont really notice anything wrong yet.....traffic opens up and I start driving again and I dont really need to use my brakes until about 2 mins later when I exit the freeway and go down the exit ramp onto the surface street when I notice my braking isn't really working well. I press my brakes but im still rolling fast thats when I knew something was wrong, the car finally stops and smoke starts coming out of the front driverside wheel, so I quickly stop at the nearst convenient spot, which happened to be a gas station. I come out of the car and see smoke coming from behind the rotor by master cylinder then I take of my wheel and I inspect it a little more, I then check all the brake lines, but by this time the smoke stopped so I couldnt see where it was coming. I wait a lil bit then drive home....What could be the problem the?? I want some opinions from Honda-Tech members, someone please help me!!?!?

hehe that sucks bro but looks like you need to replace thoes lines and its always good to check your pads and roters. i had a 95 dx coupe that i seriously wrecked and i almost died because i had worn the pads to....well i didnt have a job at the time... thats my excuse and im sticking to it
maybe change your fluid and bleed them suckers after the lines are good. gl and keep drivin that sexy beast you call a car

Thanks bro...but i doubt its my pads, rotors, or brake fluid because
I just got it all that replaced about 2 months and it didnt feel like the pads were worn out...their axxis ultimate pads, brembo cross-drilled rotors, and brake-fluid was flushed out and refilled it with new fluid....I checked my brake lines nothing seems to be wrong...no leaks...no tears...nothings hanging loose. I NEED SOME MORE OPINIONS PLEASE HELP!!!!!

By the way...if it does happen to be the master cylinder anyone know the part number for the front driverside (left) master brake cylinder for a 1993 Del Sol Si 5 speed and could I use master cylinders from 92-95 hatch, sedans, or coupes??

When I press the brake pedal its really hard, it wont even go halfway....it short of feels like its jammed somewhere and I cant press the pedal all the way through

could be your master cylinder or maybe your freeplay adjustment screw. it almost seems as though your brakes are dragging. here's how you can test to see. put your car up on jack-stands and try to spin the wheels, if it feels like you're having to apply more pressure then usual to spin the wheels then your brakes are probly dragging.

so smoke was coming from your master cylinder only? not from the wheel wells?

first when I noticed the smoke it was coming through my rims, as I looked closer it looked like it from the master cylinder, because it came from the back of the rotor, right behind the caliper where the master cylinder is located.

Well bud. Theres your first problem. The master Cylinder is located on the firewall next to the brake booster. I don't mean to flame but you act like you know exactly what you're talking about...when..its clear, you don't.

Nope. Go take a picture.
Nope. Go take a picture.
The caliper squeezes the pads onto the rotor. The caliper is fed fluid through the brake lines which connect to the proportioning valve which connects to the brake master cylinder in your engine bay. The brake master cylinder sits on the brake booster which is attached to your brake pedal.
Which part are we talking about here?

from the wheels then? your brakes are probly dragging, meaning they're on all of the time thus boiling your brake fluid and 'causing very soft pedal and possibly no brakes at all.
