5gen (1992-95) EX floor wiring harness versus SI wiring harness.
To get a cleaner and more stock wiring look, I changed out the SI interior wiring harness in opt for the EX wire harness since the car has power windows/power locks, mirrors, & tweeters. The car is an SI an initially, after the power window conversion (using only the wiring from an EX from the doors to partway into the car splicing from power off the original SI harness), one of the rear taillights would go in operable as well as the rear windshield wiper only working if the lights were on. Knowing there was an issue, I opted for the EX floor harness (only from the doors to the fuse box then down and back to the fuel pump), not the entire underdash wiring.
I used the existing SI rear wiring harness for the taillights, rear wiper, and so forth. Everything worked, assuming doing this I would only lose the functionality of the rear wiper since the EX didn't have one (and yes I was going to attempt to use the Integra to keep everything working-but the harness is different more so than I thought). I didn't realize until after a day or so that everything wasn't in fact working. I had rear taillights on BUT the brake lights wouldn't brighten after pressing the brake pedal. Checked all fuses then realized looking over the wiring connecting the front harness to the rear harness the essentials such as rear taillights, turn signals and brakes werent in the same spots from model to model. Instead of changing the pin spots (which I may go back and do)...
I then opted to use the rear EX wiring harness as well to complete it all and resolve all those issues. I'm still writing so it didn't resolve anything it created more of an issue. I step on the brakes now and I get brake lights AS WELL as hazard lights. I know it's the hazards cause both the front hazards turn on now as well, same goes with the hazards indicator on the gauge cluster.
Use of the driver side turn signal actually lights up the passenger side turn signal as well as causing the brake lights to blink. Passenger side turn signal is vice versa. The EX had more grounds, could the GROUNDS really cause this a problem like this cause I believe otherwise since things actually seem to be backwards and haywire. I figured this wouldn't have caused problems like this, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas.
If you're good with wiring, I'd appreciate your help or some sort of direction you could point me towards. Thanks.
