I was going to buy a 1.8T Golf or GTI....sweet car. The have really strong internals...a guy named Billy T on http://www.vwvortex.com haas around 400hp (last time I checked) on stock internals (Imagine with forged internals!). Of course that is not with the stock turbo, IC, etc. He has a lot of money into it, other than internals.

Most chipped 1.8Ts with 3" turbo-back exhausts, CAI, race gas, can reach 13s easily. Stock they run mid-low 15s i think. They are a bit on the heavy side though...around 2800 punds or more.

Since I'm poor i'm goin' to buy a 92 cx/dx/vx and do an engine swap. I'll be quite happy with that!

i have a 1990 VW Corrado G60. Its my little project car. I'm not really into VWs but this body style just makes me feel all warm inside I had a 1988 VW Scirocco 16v just before i got my 1992 integra GS-R and i thought that car was fast. Once i drove my gsr i knew i was going back to the honda scene. I love hondas, but i really can't wait to finish my corrado.

Corrado's are sweet......I must say that if I did not have my Golf, I would buy an integra. I just like the way they look and drive. By far one of my favorites

i guess vw's are ok, i wouldn't buy one but they're not bad cars. the beetle is very very gay though, even the turbo one, they're so lame looking .

i agree about the beetle...but a stock 1.8T beetle can beat a stock VR6 off the line.....seen it happen and I was shocked.

The new 1.8T's have 180hp. The new VR6's now have 24 valves and I think close to 200hp.

That new Passat W8 4Motion is gonna be awesome, 280hp 4.0L W8 engine, 6-speed manual tranny and 4Motion AWD.

VW's are great cars. the torque and the sound of a vr6 is unbeatable. just that performance parts, and maintenance is an arm and a leg.

plus they look dope.
im gettin one pretty soon, as soon as i can find a seller.
plus the theft on dubbs isnt as bad as hondas.

looks even iller when its euro'ed out.

have u dynoed ur ex turbo?
how are ur maintenance problems?

the new 1.8t pars up the 00 vr6, so all he has to do is upgrade the turbo, and boom, one fast luxury hatch.

The other car I was thinking about buying instead of my Integra was a A3 GTI VR6. Right now, if I could afford to lease a car as a daily driver, I'd probably go with Jetta 1.8T with the 17" wheel/sus package. VWs are cool because they aren't getting ripped off.

what are you running under there? Last i checked, the new 180 hp 1.8Ts ran low 15s with a good driver stock.
I never liked VW, until the 1.8T came out. I love that engine, well engineered, could use a turbo and IC upgrade though. I do like the egine, but i think the new gen VWs are too girly, i would rather tke the older boxier GTIs over the current design

I think the GTIs are pretty neat cars. I was checking out vwvortex the other day and came across the GTI 337 edition. Pretty nice looking! I wouldn't mind having one of these!
