Default tranny problem and engine swap

i have a 94 lude S with an f22. my 3rd gear had a grind for a while(synchro) and then 4th gear started to devolop a grind. Today, when i went to drive, when i shifted to 3rd it would go for like 2-3 seconds then pop out of gear. it will not stay in 3rd for more then 3 seconds. is it time for a new tranny? if so, would it be more worth my money to do an H22A swap while im at it and spening the money?

Your transmission is on its way out. You could try changing the fluid to Synchromesh, but that'll only buy you time. If you had already planned to get an H22, you might as well go ahead and get an H22 transmission while you're on it

yea, i think its a bent shifter fork, which means at least a tranny rebuild. how much would that cost?
