Your going to need more than a forum to help you out with a project like that. All I can say is good luck because you will need it.

What the hell is the point of using the search button?

LOL

No one has ever covered this and I doubt ever will.

So let this guy be the first.

its not gona be worth it even if you pull it off it will never ride correctly if you can afford the swap and you are smart enough to pull it off just put it in the front where honda wanted it... if you want a MR or a RR car buy one that came from the factory like that...

i highly doubt it would be legal, in fact i would bet my whole weeks paycheck that it isint... even if you did... im a lisenced inspector and if you came in my shop with somethign like that i would laugh at you and send you on your way for trying to register a go-kart

damn poor guy.
Hey check the hybrid forums on this site, not a crx but a guy with a del sol and a guy with an integra are doing some mid engine swaps. I think it is cool but it is not really smart to do this for a daily driver as it will be suuuuper hard to do and as jaydeum4lyfe so rudely put it probably will not pass to be a legal street car.

The OG guys in here should remember that there is a CRX with an NSX V6 sitting mid-engine behind the driver. It's been done, but it was hard to handle.

It can be done.... Oh, and there was a mid-engine 1st gen CRX, not to mention that Road & Track had one about 17 years ago that had 2 integra engines in it... one in the front, and one in the back... AWD.

It can be done, but it'll cost nearly $10-15k (engine included) if i were going to guess.

Its a first-gen with a K20, but it covers the basics of what's involved to make a mid-engine crx.

also, go to durocco.com , they did one there up in canada, except it was with a scirocco, and they put an engine in the front, too. good detail on how they did it. obviously, the shift linkage was the hardest part.

**** all these haters .. there are at least 2 on this board that are bad *** and they get much respect from many, many people on this board.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=981613

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1266033

These two threads should help you immensely and I'm sure the creators would be more than willing to share a little insight (though I suggest you read both threads throughly first).

Good luck on your project.

Sounds like an awesome project.

I hope you go thru with it. Post up picks of your progress. I think it might be better to use k-series if you are going thru the trouble of it all.

start your planning, and by the time you are ready for the chopping and welding, there should be some crashed 06 si k20z's ready for your donors.

Alternatively, I would try to see if you can get a full full front clip from jdm itr and chop the front susp. geometry (towers and all) to line up in the rear of the rex.

GL.

It is going to be about as easy as getting and elephant to fly through the eye of a needle.

Forget people that have no imagination and just flame someone because they are thinking outside the box, maybe it's their own insecurities about their lack of creativity. Anyway good luck again because if you can tackle a project like this and pull it off then you are the F_Cking MAN!!
