1998 Turbo Silver Civic EX ICE COLD A/C, Precision, Tial, Drag, Florida Car
I am the original owner of this 1998 Silver Honda Civic EX.
[VIN# 1hge18147wl117828] I bought this Civic new in August of 1998 locally here in Jacksonville. The Civic has 148,000 miles on it. This Civic has been well cared for with the use of premium gas (93 octane), Mobil 1 synthetic oil, 60k and 120k service using genuine Honda parts (from http://www.manhonda.com ), and nothing but well thought out top-of-the-line turbo parts are on this car as the parts list below will show. This Civic though has one very important thing that no other turbo Civic has = A/C!!!! THIS CAR HAS ICE COLD A/C!!!
This Civic was done tastefully with a lot of thought put into it as you can tell by the pictures. The Civic has been lowered, debagged, never been wrecked, never had the windows tinted, never had any gaudy gauges or wings installed, and only has a stock [genuine] Honda front lip that was color-matched along with the stock side skirts. Everything on the civic works and nothing leaks. This Civic rolls on Si wheels and is a clean riding head turner!!!
As for the Modifications and parts installed, here is the extensive list:
ENGINE/TURBO:
•D16Y8-SOHC
•Precision SC50 (t3/t4) turbo =
•Precision's line of T3/T4 turbos for Sport Compact vehicles comes standard with Precision's TA31 style exhaust housings with a 5-bolt discharge side in A/R's of .48 or .63. SC50 comes with T31 wheel with either a 2.559" Inducer and 2.121" exducer (69 trim) or 2.559" inducer and 2.229" exducer (76 trim) Available with or without internal wastegate. Each turbo comes with a 360-degree race bearing center section and a T04E compressor cover with a 3-inch inlet and 2-inch outlet. Larger T04S cover with 4-inch inlet and 2.5-inch outlet available at an extra charge. SC50 has a 54mm compressor wheel that has a 2.123" inducer and 3.000" exducer (50 trim) Supports up to 450-hp at the flywheel with proper tuning.
•Precision front-mount intercooler (medium size; handles up to 650hp)
•Chrome ‘Drag’ full turbo piping incl. the ‘Drag’ 2 ½” Charge pipe
•Tial 38mm wastegate (polished silver) =
•347 Stainless Steel Alloy is used for valve and valve housing. High temperature silicone Nomex reinforced actuator diaphragm. 17-7 PH Stainless Steel actuator spring gives consistent pressure at high temperature, resists "relaxing" at temperature to 900F (483C). Nitronic 60 Stainless Steel is used for the valve seat, and valve bushing the same material used in the higher level gates for reliability and longevity. CNC Machined 304L 12mm thick weld flanges.
•Tial 50mm Blow off Valve (BOV) (polished silver) =
•For use on turbo-charged and super-charged applications (Paxton, Vortec, etc.). The body and all internal components are CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum alloy. It features a large 1.98 in (50.5mm) valve; we believe this is the largest valve available with the highest flow capacity. The V-Band design aluminum mounting clamp gives a very clean and unique appearance. The clamp is anodized and uses Stainless Steel hardware for a long lasting, corrosion-free appearance. The valve seal utilizes a Viton O-ring that is clamped in place to prevent the possibility of sticking to the seat and pulling out. The valve stem and guide are Teflon-lubricated, hard anodize-coated for wear resistance. The Blow Off Valve also comes with our own machined aluminum banjo-type air fitting and bolt, with over sized 10mm hose barb for quick actuator response. The actuator has a high temp silicone Nomex-reinforced diaphragm for long life
•SPEC stage 3 clutch kit =
•Torque: 299lb-ft Spec Stage3 Clutch Kit is for heavily modified street and race engines. Spec Stage3 Clutch Kit offers sufficient daily drivability with a comfortable pedal feel and quick engagement. Spec Stage3 Clutch Kit offers good wear characteristics under low and high stress usage. Spec Stage3 Clutch Kit comes with high clamp pressure plate, 6 puck carbon semi-metallic friction with high torque sprung hub and disc assembly, bearing and tool kit. 6 puck is standard on most applications.
•Upgraded black silicone couplers with Stainless Steel clamps
•Custom Stainless Steel log manifold made to work with the A/C and a 2 ½” downpipe with a flex-section.
•Walbro 255lph in-tank fuel pump
•Vortec 12:1 FMU
•“missing link” map sensor
•Energy Suspension motor mount inserts
•FULLY FUNCTIONING A/C!!
EXHAUST:
•Thermal CL Exhaust (B101-C101)
•2 ½” “test pipe”
•The stock cat has the proper flanges welded on for a perfect fit (if you need a cat, I used it for about 2 months on the civic until I got a test pipe)
SUSPENSION/BRAKES/WHEELS:
•Rear disk brake conversion from a 98 Acura Integra GSR
•Si wheels with locks
•New 205/50/15 Kumho Ecsta tires
•Front fully adjustable upper control arm with camber and castor adjustment
•Rear shims with longer Grade 8 bolts (grade 8 quality far exceeds stock)
•I can provide the latest alignment printout showing all specs are within proper range (camber, castor, and toe).
•Eibach springs
•All struts were replaced in January of 2005
•Front pads are Brembo Carbon Metallic, rear pads are Raybestos semi-metallic
•Complete brake fluid flush with DOT 4 fluid in January of 2005
