Timing Belt Torn on honda civic crx 1986 :(
Here is the story ladies and gentlemen.
I had my car sitting while I was changing the brake caliper and rotor for around a month and some days. I get it out and begin to drive it around and after a day of driving I take the car out for a spin as I'm driving I smelled something burning and as I pressed on the gas the motor cut off leaving me to steer into safe road. Checked under my hood thinking it was an electrical type smell and finding out that when I pulled my timing belt cover back my belt was torn.
Well I changed the timing belt last night correctly and the motor is doing the same thing that it was doing when it didn't have the timing belt. Because I tried cranking the motor to hear what kind of sound it output when it broke down. I didn't over start the motor and hold the key I just did it enough to listen to the sound.
My mechanic friend told me to find out if there is valve clearance after a timing belt failure on my honda civic crx 1986.
If nothing goes correctly with the repairs of this vehicle i'm probably going to get a motor from a junk yard or something.
Please Help

you probably bent some valves when the belt broke. you need to replace the valves that are bent, or get a new head, or swap the engine.
