01 civic tach
My buddy has a 01 civic sedan dx which has no tach. Where do I get the signal if i'm going to install one for him?
I was thinking maybe there was a different cluster i could swap in .. such as an si cluster, but he might just go for an aftermarket gauge.
I just need to know where i should make the connection.
TIA

theres a green or blue source behind the battery that you can use as a tap for aftermarket which is rice, imo. if his car is 01-02, just get a cluster with a tach from a manual 01-02. the 03-05s will swap with the 03-05s directly, but require some rewiring to get into an 01-02.
Thanks for the info. I'll talk him into swapping clusters since it's his daily driver and he's not modding the car at all.
Do you have any pics of this blue or green wire, or where exactly it's located?
Thanks again.

yes, a 01-02 cluster will plug right in, but the milage will not match the car. Otherwise, the blue wire is located in a single plug behind the passanger headlight between the battery and fender. It is taped to a large harness running in that direction.
