Default DPFI to MPFI, NO Spark, D16a6

90' DX, D16A6,

This is a freinds car I'm trying to get running. He picked up the car after some one did the swap, but befor they got a chance to do the wiring.

Using : http://www.geocities.com/teampimports/fuelinj.html & http://www.angelfire.com/d20/h....html

I got spark once. After that the motor just cranks. For a wile I didn't get any codes. Then I started switching coils (1 at a time) and ignitors, but still no spark. I also held my dizzy out of my B16 in place and cranked it to see if I would at least get a spark, but nothing.

I went threw today and checked all the wires and wiring. Looks like 2 of the wires might have been wrong, or it could of been from all the trys. Nevertheless, I got a CODE 15. So I went threw and tried another Ignitor, and it eleminated the code, but the car still won't start.

Heres a pic that I was using aswell, to make shure my wires are correct. ::

I'm out of ideas. Any help is apriciated.

This is another view of the harness realize this view is holding it upside down:

Your wire colors may slightly vary due to age and discolorization..
Have you tried switching the two white ones?
This is a drawing of the distributor plug/wires viewed normally:

I've tried switching them. I'll go in and switch them. Then try a diffrent coil see what happends. then go threw switch them back try a driffrent ignitor. Switch them again try another peice. Now I've ran out of day light, and have to recharge my battery.
Thanks for postin gthe better pics. Alot easier to read in those.

same here, check the pins on the ecu plugs, I messed mine up with the dpfi to mpfi conversion, and had toget some new wire ends to put in the plugs.

i would also say ECU.

i had this problem with B16 into a DX.

well, actually...... AFTER it was broken into.

i took the ECU out, and when my 'great friend' reinstalled the ECU, he accidently bolted a wire underneath the ECU and pinched it until it cut open and shorted.

needless to say, it didnt fire.

after i got it to fire, we had another problem with an injector dumping WAAAAAAY too much fuel.... (also, shorted wire)

after the two fixes. it ran PERFECTLY ever since.

Fuel pump is good. I got fuel threw the fuelrail.
ECU was throwing a code15,replaced the ignitor and the code went away.

As soon as it warms up a little I'll be outside trying the ECU.

Will trying my PR3 ECU work? As far as just getting it to start up. I know the fuel maps are diffrent.

OK...tripple checked the wiring.

Using my B16 Dizzy and my PR3 ECU..we got spark. Switched ECU's and still have spark.Car sounds better, still hasn't turned over, but its starting to putter.
Little bits of backfire, but its almost there.

Now after I crank it I'll get a cell. Code 8. TDC Position crank angle sencor.

So close now.

Alright. After trying the PR3 ECU & dizzy. We went in and gutted my dizzy and put it all into the D16 dizzy (coil, ignitor, rotor, everything). We went outside to test it,and NOTHING> Back to square 1. NO SPARK!

when you did wiring at the ecu did you depin any of the wires such as the ones that go to TDC at the dizzy? when i did my swap I had perfect continuity from ecu plug to dizzy, but the problem was not the wires, it was the pins themselves that got messed up during depinning. just try using some good ones from a junkyard plug or something... you may be surprised.
