Painting questions...
I am getting my wings west kit painted soonish. I know of a cheap shop that did my old thunderbird for cheap.
My question is, what sorts of things should I be asking the paintshop before they paint my body kit?
In general, how many layers of paint will I need (stock tahaitian green)?
Also, how many layers of regular clear coat?
What about paint and clear coat additives? I heard that I should ask about flex agents, is there any other additives that I need to make sure is being used?
If you guys know of any other things I should double-check with the shop before I send the kit over, please post them up. I want a good paint job, not a shitty one, so I need to ask the right questions. Thanks!

If you want a good paint job it's not going to be cheap. Some shops that I know can paint a kit for a good price something like $150 but you supply the materials. What they also do is only give you one layer of paint which isn't much at all you need maybe two or three layers depending if you are changing to another color or not. The real thing you should look into is getting a good base coat like Dupont or PPG but the most important thing is the clear coat. Spend a good amount of money for a good clear coat like Dupont. It is kind of expensive but the outcome is worth it. Oh and about two layers of clear will do just fine. I used to paint cars for a shop called Kruzzin Klassics

Yes you could use three coats which would be best because it's your front bumper and it may get knicked with rocks etc. so three layers will protect it better than just one!
