Default CRX swap question

Ok I got an 86 crx si, got a d16a or a1 out of an 87 integra, not sure yet if its a or a1 too dirty to tell at the moment, but it has the brown valve cover and I hear thats the jdm one. Anyways I need to know if my SI tranny will bolt up too it or do I get the integra tranny for the new engine?

Default Re: CRX swap question (AIC4ME)

All the 86-89 usdm integra motors are labeled d16a1..If the stamp is on the front its a 88-89,has electronic distibutor, etc.(That's the one you want)..If the stamp is on the back,it's a 86-87 and has mechanical vacuum distributor and sucks..

And if I recall right the jdm version is stamped ZC..From early jdm (maybe edm to ,not sure) integras, civics, crx's,etc

And NO, the 86 crx si tranny wont bolt up to that motor..

Check out redpepperracing.com for info on those Pre 88 cars..Lots of info there
