Some one fill me in
there are tons of posts with info on h22 specs...but since i'm nice, here ya go:
5th gen prelude (bb6 chassis)
obd-2 emission regulations
195 bhp
163 lb-ft
vtec cross-over @ 5200 rpms
7200 redline
7500 rev-limit
there are also differences between the base prelude's h22a4 block and the type-sh prelude's h22a4 block. the type-sh blocks were designed to accomidate the ATTS system, and so the oil passages are different, the oil filter is in a different location, there is no intermediate shaft (instead theres the ATTS unit), and the transmission bolt pattern is different (so only type-sh transmissions will bolt on without some sort of adaptor plate, usually custom made). it's kinda hard to tell the difference without having the two blocks side by side unless you're really familiar with them.

^^ pretty much what bb6racer said, however i see it slightly different
the 99+ mysteriously gained 5hp, making it 200hp but kept the same torque.
vtec cross is at 5200, 7400 is the beginning of the redline area on the stock gauge cluster. but the actual true engine rpm limit is 8,200. however "i" believe that the fuel cut is at 7,600 true rpm (some say it's 7,400 and some say it's 7,500 but i say it's 7,600 hah) the stock gauge is inaccurate after you pass vtec, and the fuel cut, whether it be 7,400 or 7,500 or 7,600, it cuts at 8,100-8,200 on the stock gauge.
on the stock tachometer, "i" believe, and do it myself quite often, it's safe to rev up to 8,000rpm if you have enough oil. this means you're reving up to just before the fuel cut. if you go up to 8,100-8,200 on the stock gauge, you'll hit the fuel cut.
keep in mind this is how i see it and what i believe and what i take my car up to when i decide to drive hard. i have an '01 5spd
