Default Where to buy a new transmission

I have a D16Y8 and my transmission seems to be going bad. So far it seems to have a bad throw out bearing, a bad sincro, and a few other gremlins. I figure the best thing to do would be to probably replace the whole tranny. Was wondering if anyone new a good way to buy a tranny without junkyard hunting, also whatever you think the pricerange I might be looking at is. Thanks for any help.

Look around your local shops, or junkyards or the classifieds.
