help! my car won't shift!
Seriously, I have to force the shifter into gear(s). My clutch is not disengaging and as of this morning (yeah, this was fun...) I had no resistance or anything to my clutch pedal. I don't know if something is leaking and there's no fluid or what the deal is. Any suggestions?
check your clutch fluid, if low or empty you have a leak somewhere. most likely either at the slave cylinder, or at the master cylinder which youll also have to look under the dash against the firewall for fluid running down.
that's pretty much what i'm afraid of. i'm at work so i won't be able to check till later, but i'm leaning toward one of the cylinders leaking.
what's the name of the company that makes mechanical manuals for cars?

you could get a helms or chilton manual, but i would recomend going to the dealer and getting a factory manual.
might be best to take the car to the dealer for service, master cylinders can be a pain in the ***... if youve never done one.

I just made a thread exactly like this.
For me it was my clutch master cylinder. Same symptons as you. I filled up my clutch fluid, let it run for a while. Then took it to the shop. Took them about a day and a half to diagnose my car and repair it. $240 in the end.
Get it fixed though, don't try to drive it. It's not worth breaking something and making this repair more costly then it should be.
Sorry to hear man.

First, make sure you aren't low on clutch fluid.
Then, bleed your clutch line if you were. Air bubbles = shitty clutch movement = dragging clutch.
Otherwise, check for fluid drainage. Get a FSM and replace it yourself if money is a problem.

thanks guys, i actually didn't get to read the rest of your responses till just now. i found a friend to call who basically suggested the same thing.
turns out the reservoir was apparently dry so we put some fluid in it and bled it through the hydraulic cylinder, which temporarily seems to have fixed the problem. but yeah, i'm most likely going to need to replace the cylinder cuz it looks like the boot is leaking anyhow.
now i can't find my manual so what's the difference in someone calling it a "slave" cylinder or a "master" cylinder? are there two or are they the same? wow, i know i sound ignorant but i swear i'm not.
