Default Engine oil flush

This question propably seems really dumb. As the tranny and radiator can be flushed out, i have never seen anything like that for engine oil. Is there anything like that or just motor flush that you add before you drain the oil?

The product is called oil system cleaner, or OSC for short. put into oil and run engine for five to ten minutes then drain. works well on getting all the sludge out, or most of it.

Yep. I always run an oil treatment before the oil is changed.

also not recommended to continually use, need to wait 30K miles before doing it again. this stuff usually contains some pretty harsh detergents.

Yeah I would not use it everytime you change your oil. That stuff will eat your gaskets up and that will lead to some oil leaks. I know from experience on an older car .

Well - the reason I do so is because i let my car sit a lot. It takes me many months to travel 3,000 miles - so in my case, its perfectly fine. I'd probably let my car sit for a month or so - drive it, let it sit........etc.
