sup guys....do u think a turbo itr with 12psi can pass a smog test...i live i md and i think i have to get my smog test soon in november...it's once every 2 years here...if i can't pass it..what i gotta do to pass it..take the turbo out?

 

Anything can pass if you know the right people. If you go to your local gas station, it might be a little(sarcasm) harder.

 

so what do turbo guys do? take it off for every inspection?

 

i passed with my b18c5 motor..it has a greddy kit on it. I just installed the stock cat..passed without problems..legitametly i might add..

 

I dont think there is a carb legal turbo kit for the ITR engine; so a turbo shouldnt pass; but there are so many crooked smog places.

 

if you know shady smog place let me know, hell let us all know!!!

CARB-legal only matters in Cali. NC has a "visual inspection," but only to ensure factory emissions equipment is still in place. Last time I got my car inspected, the only reason they popped the hood was to clip a lead to a plug wire.

 

As long as you're not in California and turn the boost as low as it will go before the test.

 

here in maryland..they put the thing over the exhaust and ask u to rev to 3000 rpm i think and it measures how much smog comming out...u think i can pass it ..because turbo won't kick in till around 4000 rpm rite?
