How Much Should I Expect to Pay for Tranny Work?
I got quoted $650(just for lab0r) to do the following...is this a fair price?
a.) Drop the tranny
b.) Install...
1.) Mainshaft and countershaft bearings on the clutch housing
2.) 1/2 synchro set along with the two ball bearings at the end of the countershaft
3.) Ball bearing at the end of the mainshaft
4.) LSD bearings
5.) Pilot bearing
6.) Throwout bearing
c.) Reinstall tranny

Not 2 summers ago i paid $650 to have my ITR tranny rebuilt. I hand delivered the tranny and i was charged for labor and parts. In all honesty that doesn't seem like too bad of a deal to me.

What did they replace? Again, the $650 I was quoted was just for labor.

figure book time to R&R the trans is about 5 or 6 hours, plus tranny rebuild of 2 to 4 hours book time. So it would be up to 10 hours labor book time. Most hourly rates are between 65 and 80
