Default 10 pt cage install

im getting ready to put my s&w cage in my hatch and i have a few questions..i was reading ina old honda-tunning mag where they put a cage in a CRX and the said to put one side of the car on jack stand to put opposite tension and prevents shrinkage from happening.. has anyone hear this? if so ho should i do it? another thing i would like to know is i here that bolting the plates to the floor will make it stronger the welding them.. is that true? thax for any help

honestly you should have the entire car on jackstands not on the suspension and tires, that way the car will sit level and true, so you get an even cage install. wont be crooked when the cars on the ground. i have an s&w 10 point in my coupe, its the second cage i had from them and i can not complain, excellent quality. i welded my plates in, it is stronger and it WILL pass tech, bolt in cages wont pass at the strip

You really think a car would sit more level on jack stand ?

I have always seen, and heard people welding cages in while all four tires are on the ground, I actually remmeber seeing a guy make blockes of wood to stick under the tire, this would raise the car off the ground and allow to get under it still.

it is designed to go around the stock dashboard and if the car sits on the suspension and tires, everyone should know that the civics dont sit level, so when you weld the cage in, the car will be permantly offset
