what makes more power
i have 2 89 hatches one is and si with a zc vtec sohc and the other is a std the std body is mint so im taking all the si stuff and swaping it all on to my std but the question i had as what will make more power casue i heard if you do a "mini me" swap ith my d15 it will put a higher compression so will that make more power than my zc cause if it does im just going to swap over my head than if not ill do the moror swap
and also my std has a 4sp trans is that even worth keeping or should i just put in the zc with the si trans thanks for all the help

I think you can put the 5 speed Si tranny on the d15b1 in the std hatch.
I don't know much about the mini me but the 4 speed in the std suck, swapping it out for the 5 speed makes a big difference

Dont even bother with the mini me setup..You already have a complete sohc vtec motor that is 1.6L and has a taller deck height that the d15b1..So just put the vtec motor, and 5speed tranny in the STd..You;ll notice the difference without all the weight with the SI

Yes you are correct..But he said he was swapping all the SI stuff over the std..So I would assume he means the whole entire car harness also..Although it would be easier just to use the std harness and convert it to mpfi..

Don't spread false info please..
There is a vtec zc motor,it's basically a d16z6 motor with a ZC stamp on the block...

the 4-speed transmission is awful . . really really makes it a TRUE economy car tho when talking about gas mileages . . acceleration is more better when having a 5-speed transmission IMO

JDM version of the D16Z6 is called the D16ZC. It is Vtec for sure....
I have 2 of them.
They have slightly higher compression than the D16Z6 block for mad 5 HP more (Or so) and the VTAAK k1kz in m@d t1T3 y0!

It's not really that good for fuel economy. The overall ratio in fifth is actually the same as an SI transmission and SHORTER than a DX transmission. The only reason why Honda went with a four speed is to keep the cost of the car down. The Civic STD was at least as much (and perhaps more) about being cheap to buy as it was about fuel economy.
