So I need to mount my Sparco Speed in my 88 CRX, but am told that they mount differently than 89-91. I am not sure if this is true but could sure use some info
This is what I can tell you:
From my experience 88-89 have different rails than 90-91. I've put 90-91 seats in my car before using the 89 rails. The rails bolt right up. I'm assuming 88 are the same as 89, but not 100% sure.

in 88 i believe there is no difference in drivers side and passenger side seats and rails meaning you can switch drivers side and passenger side seats no problem where as 89 - 91 there is a difference between the two sides and each is designated to a side. This is probably where the difference in the bracket comes in. Probably mounts in different holes then the other years. As long as you have an 88 seat rail and 88 car you should be fine.
also 88s have some slight differences in the seat belt buckle because of the pillar mounted seatbelts but nothing major.
