H22a lost of power
i have a 92 accord sedan 5spd with a 95 h22a...i was driving to work one day and i heard a boom in the engine bay...and i just lost all the power!...the engine is not blown, so what can it be?
if you heard a boom, take it to a shop. without anyone seeing your car for themselves and tearing it down, it could be a number of things. if it still runs, don't run it. better to be safe than sorry imo. get it checked out. could be a broken component of the crankshaft assembly or valve train components.
How do you know the engine isn't blown? Did you rip apart the block and look at everything? A blowout can be as small as one piston. The only way to tell is to take off the head, take out the pistons, rods, and crank, and inspect all of the above carefully. Once you do this, post on what you find.

WHAT? take off the head and pull the pistons, rods, and CRANK??? are you OK? pulling those takes a *LITTLE* more work than just removing the head.
christ, before you start just ripping the motor apaprt you can check the engine condition a little easier - have a compression test done. if that comes back OK your bottom end is probably fine and there's no reason to pull the head.
if a compression test comes back bad, then do a leakdown test. that will isolate the problem before even opening the motor.
to the OP, "i heard a boom and lost power" is a little vague. can't really tell you anything from that. do a compression test and post the results.

Definitely do this before ripping into the engine

I had this happen to me when I was 16, down shifted to second and dropped the clutch and boom the exhaust manifold blew apart. Craziest thing I have ever seen.
Anyway great advice from notoriousB, if you don't have the tools to do the compression & leak down tests just go out and buy them before going to a shop that way you will at least have a better understanding of what is going on with your motor.
