Default do i used the same bearing on my stock diff. for the obx lsd??

putting in an obx lsd to my b16 tranny. just wonder if i can use the stock bearing on the stock diff. or will it not fit? was planning to press out the bearing and put it on the obx.

its good to buy new ones anyways...you dont want one to go bad and make the diff wobble....if so oyu can say bye to your final drive and counter shaft....

make sure you measure the clearence with the case and use the proper shim if needed....

dont forget the final drive bolts are reverse thread and put on the speedo gear!!

will it be better to replace the tapered roller bearing
with the ball bearing? i have not open my del sol b16 yet, but does it come with tapered roller bearing or ball bearing?? if i replace the bearing with ball bearing will it still fit the tranny housing? what is a speedo gear?

gsrs are the only ones that have tapered roller bearings ... replace it with new factory bearings of the same kind....

you need to measure the bearing to case clearence and theres a speedo gear on the old diff that will need to be put on the lsd

no, that problem was fixed.... obx forgot to bevel on side of the diff, thats why axles were getting stuck.
the new gen2's or wahtever have both sides beveled to get rid of the sticking problem

my obx diff has both sides beveled

i believe only gsrs have tapered roller bearings... the b16 and Ls use ball bearings similar to the itr and 2001 gsr but smaller
