Default Questions on installing cams

I'm getting ready to install my cams, and I have a few questions. I've got my manual, so I know the procedure, torque specs, etc. In the manual, it says I need to adjust my valve clearance. Do I need to? I just had them adjusted 2000 miles ago. And it mentions inserting 5mm punches into the holes near the cam gears. Does that just hold it still while I tighten it? And where do I apply the assembly lube? Everywhere? Just the lobes?

I believe you are correct on the inserting the punches to hold the gears still and as far as the assembly lube i would put it every where you are going to have metal to metal contact. You can never have too much lubrication.

yes most definately readjust your valves, or at least check them.
