There is virtually no difference in performance or (usually) price. There's a difference in diameter of 3.3 percent, which will throw off your speedometer/odometer. Which one is better to use depends on which car you're using it on. 195/55 is the better size for Integras and '96 and later Civics. 195/50 is the better size for '95 and earlier Civics and CRXs.
