The best-performing commonly available bulbs (excluding high-wattage bulbs) are probably Sylvania Xtravision's. They're relatively inexpensive and can be found at virtually any auto parts store.

The SilverStars (at least the ones available in North America) are coated in order to produce the "white" look that people often like. However, in terms of actual output and performance, the uncoated Xtravisions are the best option.

I have some GE9003SB bulbs and they're great. Like 15 bucks a pair, and they last for a year and a half or longer each set I get.

it's preference, i like the "full-spectrum" look of the silverstars on the road...

same here. no bulb should ever blow out, just make sure you dont touch the bulb when you install it. if you get any hand oil on the bulb, it will blow out really fast silverstars ftw!

brightest bulb? well, the stock bulbs are 55/60 watt hi/lo you can go to best buy, they sell a set of bulbs there made by "Nokya" its a blue tinted bulb, those give off a 90/100 watt hi/lo output. those are the ones i have in my car and i love them. also if you really wants bright bulbs, you gotta keep in mind the stock wiring harness has it's limits. then another way to get bright bulbs, is spend the money and get HIDs

I love my SilverStars. Light output is better than other bulbs i've owned and they haven't burnt out within a few months like my other bulbs. They were also double the price of my old bulbs at 40 bucks a pair. but worth it. next time i have a blow out i'm gonna consider HIDs though.

Is it also the stock "fuzzy" headlight lens causing the really shitty light output?
