hey yall...i got a 97 civic Sedan..4 dr. i know many of these are not done..but hey its always fun doing something different. im getting a grille in a couple days and new Diamond clear tail lights in about a week. Was thinking either suspension or rims next. Cant do both..or else id be in some major debt. lol. what you guys think. here is a few pics of my ugly-but-soon-to-be-looking-good civic.

Nah, this should be in the appearance section really.

This section is more about getting faster. SO everyone here is going to say, suspension.

get some lowering springs, maybe not the whole coil over setup since it seems your low on cash, so id go with some nice lowering springs, and then maybe get some OEM wheels (painted maybe?) but i see your getting clear tail lights, so you may be looking into some of those 17's you see in car mags. well heres some advice....take time and look around HT for atleast a week or two before puttin money into your car, you may not want to get the rims or the lights and maybe get some springs,intake,and a nice header. thats just my 2cents comming from a guy with a stock del sol

Well this is kinda open b/c of the way you did your post...
If your looking for wheels, yes, A&C. But if your looking for suspension etc. then by all means you're in the right place.

I'd get suspension first (get something decent or you'll hate it later). Basics are Koni's, Tokico illuminas (i have these), kyb's etc
Wheels are basically last on my list of things to do (good tires for my mesh wheels was good enough for me, for now)

But there are some diy things you can do, that are basically free. Like diy smoked headlights (look great IMO). Or you could've done a diy grill, if you hadn't already ordered one. Getting a front lip does alot for those cars as-well and can be had for $100-150 or so, unless you go CF. Not sure what those wheels are from... but see if you can swap the acura A for a honda H. Fix the gap between your fender and bumper. Repaint your wipers and any faded trim pieces etc. etc.

 

Get another alarm if it has one. If it doesn't get a new one.

are those acura CL rims?

 

If you are on a budget.. dont buy cheap stuff. Save up for what you truly want and buy it when you have enough. Don't cheap out. Trust me it will be much more gradifying (sp?).

 

car will feel way better with a nice set of springs and shocks on there. save your money and get a nice set.

if you get wheels with the stock suspention it is just going to look gay anyway.

and to the guys who offered suggestions..thats real cool...i liek the suspension idea too, but wsnt sure if should go with rims first or not.

tqbeastcx, i ws pllaning on the DIY headlights when i get some time..but DIY grille?? you possibly got any how to's on that?

yah got these acura rims for free, fares better then hubcaps..imo.
